Afghan Asylum Seekers
Legal Clinics

The International Rescue Committee, Phoenix Legal Action Network, Council on American-Islamic Relations AZ and Respond Crisis Translation are partnering to put on a series of pro bono asylum legal clinics to assist nearly 1200 Afghan evacuees with the numerous legal issues and hurdles they currently face.

Many of these asylum seekers do not speak English and assistance is needed to fund interpreters. Currently, a clinic to support 30 Afghan families (about 60-100 evacuees) incurs interpretation costs of $5,000-$8,000.

The Bar Foundation has joined to help the IRC and PLAN raise funds to forward this important humanitarian work. Together, we hope to raise $80,000 to cover the costs of 10 additional clinics.
